Kayum Nasyri Street becomes pedestrian
(KZN.RU, August 23, by Renat Shirmanov) A third pedestrian street has appeared in Kazan. In accordance with the decision of the Executive Committee, that status was given to the newly restored Kayum Nasyri Street, which has a number of cultural heritage landmarks. Today, Mayor of Tatarstan Ilsur Metshin, together with some local old-timers, inspected the updated street in the Old Tatar Settlement.
The head of the "Old Town" prefecture Lenar Zakirov conducted the tour. He said that one of merchant Apanayev's houses, located at Fatyh Karim and Marjani streets, would be completed in the near future. Tremendous work has been done during the restoration of the monuments of federal significance – the Apanaevskaya and Marjani mosques, located on Kayum Nasyri Street. The street has a total of nine cultural heritage landmarks.
