(KZN.RU, February 4, by Alisa Rozanova) By the start of the Universiade, the Kazan index of hotel accommodation availability will reach 5.3 per thousand inhabitants instead of today's 4. This was stated by chairman of the Kazan Committee for Foreign Relations and Tourism Ivan Kadoshnikov at City Hall Business Monday.
Currently, there are 94 hotels in Kazan, including hostels and motels, with an overall capacity of about
eight thousand beds. In 2013, it is planned to put into operation 11 more hotels, increasing the capacity by 25%.
Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin noted that “there is still a lot of work to be done, and every little thing has to be taken care of”. “Starting with the customs at the airport, meeting the hotel desk clerk and ending with the restaurant manager, our guests should remember Kazan as a welcoming city, which is in keeping with the traditions of our people," concluded the mayor.
