Rehearsals of World University Games opening ceremony to begin February 15
(KZN.RU, January 18, by Taisiya Basharkina) Rehearsal of Universiade opening ceremony key numbers and mass scenes will begin in mid-February. The ceremony is expected to be attended by some7,000 participants and will last about four hours. This was reported at this year's first staff meeting to prepare the opening and closing ceremonies of the 27th World Summer Universiade, chaired by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
"We would like the opening ceremony of the Universiade to be a celebration for every family of the capital of Tatarstan," he said. "Ninety percent of the viewers will watch the Universiade opening ceremony. This is a unique opportunity to tell the world about Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia and all our people," concluded the mayor.
It will be recalled that the 2013 Universiade will be held in the capital of Tatarstan July 6 to 17. The opening ceremony will be held on July 6 at the main sports arena of Kazan – the new "Rubin-Arena" stadium with a seating capacity of 45 thousand, which is being built at Chistopolskaya street.
