The tourist
flow to Kazan from January to August amounted to 2.8 million people. Compared
to last year, this number increased by about 300 thousand.
"With
the number of tourists, the quality of the industry should also improve. There
is no limit. Any international event is an occasion for us to grow
professionally once again. We have a year ahead of the BRICS summit. We must
not only improve, but also think about how to use this summit to increase the
tourist flow from friendly countries. It is also important for us to think
about opening new flights with important cities and countries. Let's use the
remaining year as efficiently as possible for the future tourist attractiveness
of our capital,”- said Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan.
This year,
the Kazan International has broken its record in passenger traffic - on October
1, the 4 millionth passenger was recorded. For comparison, last year this
indicator was reached only on December 29. Today there are flights to 68
destinations: 44 domestic and 24 international flights. Trips to Istanbul,
Aktau, Vladikavkaz, Cherepovets, Kirov were launched.
Water
transport served 214,227 tourists from April to August. This is 56.8% more than
in 2022.
The Kazan
Kremlin has become a favorite place for tourists. For eight months of 2023, it
was visited by 3 million 300 thousand people, in 2022 for the same period - 2
million 800 thousand people. The increase was about half a million people. The
chak-chak museum also shows positive dynamics: this season it was visited by 33,500
people, which is 6,500 more than in 2022. About 45 thousand people visited the City
Panorama Museum, the increase was 5 thousand.
