Four new schools
for six thousand students will open in Kazan on the Day of Knowledge, which
will become a new city record. On the eve of September 1, the Rais (Head) of
Tatarstan took part in the ceremony commissioning of 11 new schools. The
Minister of Education of Russia Sergey Kravtsov, Chairman of the State
Development Corporation VEB.RF Igor Shuvalov and the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur
Metshin joined the event in the videoconference mode.
Welcoming the
participants, the Minister of Education of Russia Sergey Kravtsov said that 160
new schools will open in the country on September 1. Including 28 educational
institutions for 25 thousand children that have been opened in 2019-2022 in
Tatarstan under the Education national project.
“There has never
been such a amount of construction of schools and kindergartens. In general,
Tatarstan is a leader in the education system. We implement the experience of
the republic throughout the country. Rustam Nurgalievich, I would like to thank
your entire team and you personally. This is a management that allows you to
achieve results in the shortest possible time without failures,”- said the head
of the Russian Minister of Education.

And once again you have confirmed that your managerial abilities are unique. The
experience of Tatarstan will be replicated nationwide, and this will also help
us to build new schools throughout the country,”- Igor Shuvalov, the chairman
of the state corporation VEB.RF, noted.
According to
Rustam Minnikhanov, thanks to national projects and federal programs, 11
educational facilities totaling more than 17 billion rubles were built by the
republic's funds for the new school year.
The Mayor of Kazan
Ilsur Metshin, who joined the event from a new school on Rauisa Gareeva st.,
said that a record number of students will come to city schools on the Day of
Knowledge -174 thousand schoolchildren, 20 thousand of them are first–graders.
According to him, some schools have 13-15 first grades.
“We expect 200
thousand schoolchildren in 2025. The population of Kazan is growing, there are many
young families. Therefore, it is difficult to imagine the future without the
construction of schools and preschool institutions. I want to thank everyone
for the national project. We really hope that it will be continued, we will
grow with a new number of kindergartens and schools,”- the head of the city
said.
This year, four
schools for six thousand children were built in new residential districts in
the capital of the republic of Tatarstan.
“We open new
schools in Salavat Kupere, the Bright Valley, on Sibgat Khakima Street and in
the area of the Fermsky highway. Seventeen schools have been renovated, and
separately under the program of the Rais of Tatarstan we have renovated over
140 schools over the past eight years, which are more than 30 years old,”- the Mayor said.
