An agreement on inter-municipal
cooperation has been signed between the cities of Kazan and Grozny. The
document was signed today at the Kazan City Hall by the Mayor of the capital of
the Republic of Tatarstan Ilsur Metshin and the Mayor of the capital of Chechen
Republic Khas-Magomed Kadyrov.
The agreement provides for the
organization and holding of joint events to strengthen friendship and
cooperation between residents of the two cities. Kazan and Grozny plan to
exchange information on programs and technologies that are being implemented in
the two capitals, as well as cooperate in other areas of municipal economy to share
the best municipal practices.
“Thank you very much for
seeing us. We know how Tatarstan is developing in many areas, therefore cooperation
with the republic is interesting for us,”- Khas–Magomed Kadyrov said and
thanked Ilsur Metshin for his hospitality.
The Mayor of Kazan noted that the capital of Tatarstan is ready to share
its experience. “A lot of projects are being implemented in the city this year,
we are building new roads, highways and schools. Close relations with Grozny are
a separate golden page of our history. We follow the successful development of
your republic and the way your president confidently leads the region and its
people forward in the most difficult conditions. We are sincerely happy for you
and wish you only the best,”- he said.
A delegation from Chechen Republic, headed by the Mayor of Grozny
Khas-Magomed Kadyrov and Mayor of Argun Ilyas Masayev, arrived in the capital
of Tatarstan on a working visit this morning. For four days, the guests will
study the experience of Kazan in solving issues of local importance in various
areas of municipal economy, in particular, in landscaping, construction,
housing and utilities services, industry, as well as economy. The delegation of
Chechen Republic also had a meeting with the head of Tatarstan Rustam
Minnikhanov.
