(KZN.RU, June 18, by Olga Gertseva) Kazan City Hall and EF Education First signed an agreement on cooperation in language training for administration officials. More than 1,000 employees will be trained in the English language in anticipation of the 2013World Summer Universiade.
The agreement was signed by Mayor Ilsur Metshin and EF General Director in Russia and the CIS Eduard Baldakov. EF is the official provider of English language programs to the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, the 2013Universiade in Kazan and the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The EF Education First and Kazan City Hall joint project will be launched without delay. The language training will be offered online. The classes will be available every hour, and students will be able to log in to them at a convenient time. The lessons will be given by native speakers; the results shown by students will be evaluated, and each student will receive individual recommendations.
The educational program will include conversational classes, instruction in formal and informal English, business English, English for specific purposes and interactive exercises. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a certificate recognized world wide.
It may be recalled that in 2011, EF Education First announced plans to open its offices and schools in Tatarstan and also offered its expertise in teaching English to volunteers and staff of the 2013 Kazan Universiade. In May 2012, the first international EF English First center was launched in Kazan.
