I. Metshin: “Looking at the finalists of the “Big Break”, we are proud of our children”
(KZN.RU, April 22). 3000 talented schoolchildren from the 10 strongest educational institutions in Kazan became participants in the festival “Big Break”. The final took place on April 16 at the CLC Lenin. Airat Faizov, the chairman of the Committee on Children and Youth Affairs, reported on the results of the competition at the Business Monday.
Qualifying tours of the festival took place from January to March. According to their results, the best were identified in 4 areas: musical, dancing, theatrical, and original. The participants were evaluated by popular artists and famous teachers, including Rimma Ibragimova, a People’s Artist of the TASSR, Liliya Bagautdinova, an Honored Worker of Culture of the RT, Tatiana Lyadova, an Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Mari El, and others.
As a result of the final round, the secondary educational school №180 of the Sovetsky district was recognized as the winner. They received 1 million rubles for the development of the infrastructure of an educational institution. The secondary school №137 of the Kirovsky district became the silver winner. The third place was split by the secondary school №16 of the Privolzhsky district and the secondary educational school №181 Sovetsky district.
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, noted the importance of the festival “Big Break” for the discovering of children's creative abilities. “A wonderful festival, more than 3 thousand children took part just in the final part. The number of schools is growing. If last year there were 109, then now there are 125 of them. Real artists and creative bands perform on the stage. Looking at them, we are proud of our children”, said I. Metshin.
