The new metro station “Dubravnaya” opened in Kazan

(KZN.RU, August 30, Ksenia Shvetsova). The construction of the first branch of the underground completed in Kazan. Today the last, the eleventh, station “Dubravnaya” opened. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, Mintimer Shaimiev, the State Councilor of the RT, Asgat Safarov, the head of the Presidential Administration of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Leila Fazleeva, the deputy prime minister of the RT, Denis Kalinkin, the head of the Executive Committee, and other officials of the republic and its capital rode the first train with the first passengers.

Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, noted at the opening that it is symbolic that the eleventh station completing the first branch of the metro system once again became a gift for the citizens on the Day of the City and the Republic. The construction of the metro in Kazan began on the eve of the Millennium celebration of the city. “The opening of the 11th metro station is another historic event for our city. Kazan is one of the few cities in Russia where construction of metro stations continues today thanks to the support of the republic's leadership. I wish the roads were safe, so that we always have a blue, peaceful, happy sky above us, like today. Happy holiday to you and all the best!” congratulated the Mayor.

The opening of new facilities on the day of celebrating one of the most important dates for the residents of the republic is already a tradition, noted Rustam Minnikhanov. “We just visited the Tukay Museum opened in Kazan, now we are opening a new metro station. It is very pleasing that such events take place on the day of the holiday”, said the President of the RT. “Our city should be comfortable. Now very much is being done for the development of public spaces, the renovation of yards. Today we proceed to the second line of the metro despite all the financial difficulties. And gradually, we will solve this task. I wish success to everyone, health, and prosperity of our capital!”.

Afterward, Marat Rakhimov, the general director of the AO “Kazmetrostroy” handed the symbolic key from the new metro station to Asfan Galyavov, the general director of the MUP “Metroelectrotrans”. “We completed the first metro line with the construction of the station “Dubravnaya”. Despite all sorts of difficulties, we made this line, we did it!”, said M. Rakhimov.

After the invitation of A. Galyavov to join the ride, a huge number of people came to the underground.

The honored guests drove to the station “Prospect Pobedy”, talked to the citizens and made memorable photos.

“We have already opened 11 stations, can you imagine! This is the final one of the first line. There will be a second line, and we definitely will not stop there. Especially now, when we have mastered such capacities for construction”, said Mintimer Shaimiev. “I want to congratulate all residents on the occasion. We can do everything, everything works out for us!”.

The basic construction and installation work at the station ended in early May. Anyone can use the newly built station now.

The station “Dubravnaya” has been built using advanced technologies; it meets the most modern requirements. It is equipped with automatic machines for the purchase of tokens and travel cards, which work, including by cashless settlement. You can buy a token for cash, a bank card or a smartphone. Traditional cash registers for automatic machines were replaced on the eve of the World Cup at all other stations.

Also, there is a video surveillance system with the function of face recognition at the station. In addition, the station is equipped with all the necessary elements to provide a low-mobility population groups. There are elevators and ramps at each crossing and lobby.

The republic allocated 5.2 billion rubles for the construction of the section from station “Prospect Pobedy” to the “Dubravnaya”. The “Dubravnaya” is a transfer line to the second metro line, which will include 12 stations.
