983 representatives of universities and colleges of the republic met at the VIII Congress of Students in Kazan

(KZN.RU, March 13). 983 delegates, representatives of universities and colleges of the republic took part in the meeting of the VIII Congress of Tatarstan students. The participants of the plenary meeting, which took place at the site of the Kazan KRK “Pyramid”, were also Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, and others.

Prior to the meeting, the President of the RT was told about the projects of the League of Students: Student Educational Forum, Spartakiada “Friendship of Peoples”, “Student Spring of the RT”, and others.

In his speech, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the future of the republic depends on active young specialists. “These are not just beautiful words. Speaking of the fourth technological revolution, a few years ago it seemed that it was far away. But today artificial intelligence and blockchain are already a reality. And only young and advanced people like you can understand it”, he said to the audience.

The President reminded that the previously adopted Strategy-2030 defines human capital as the main value of Tatarstan. “Those skills and leadership skills that you have will help our republic to remain a leader among Russian regions”, said Rustam Minnikhanov.

The President of RT marked that in recent years many significant events occurred, due to which Kazan became widely known all over the world: the 1000th anniversary of the capital of Tatarstan, the Universiade-2013, the World Aquatics Championship-2015. In June of this year, the FIFA World Cup matches will start in Kazan. “We couldn’t even imagine that we would take such a level 15-20 years ago”, said the President.

He also reminded other global changes in the republic, which require a high educational base. “You are the brightest representatives of our leading universities”, added Rustam Minnikhanov, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
