Results of the work of the prosecutor's office of the RT for 2017 were summed up in Kazan

(KZN.RU, January 19). Today the extended board session took place in the prosecutor's office of the RT where the results of the prosecutor's office of the RT activities for 2017 were summed up and the tasks for strengthening the rule of law and order for 2018 were determined.

Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, Farid Mukhametshin, the chairman of the State Council of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Renat Timerzyanov, the chief federal inspector of the RT, Farid Khisamutdinov, the director of the Kazan Institute of Law of the Academy of the Prosecutor General's Office of the RF, Evgeny Panchuk, the deputy head of the prosecutor general's office of the RF in the Volga Federal District, heads of republican ministries, departments, and law enforcement agencies, and others participated in the panel.

Ildus Nafikov, the public prosecutor of the RT, has told about work of the prosecutor's office of the RT in 2017.

According to him, almost 3 thousand officials were brought to administrative responsibility after the intervention of Tatarstan prosecutors. In total, the supervisory authority in 2017 revealed more than 48 thousand violations. 279 criminal cases were instituted. I. Nafikov drew attention to the need to work with appeals and hold personal meetings.

He noted that the republican prosecutor's office in conjunction with financial and treasury bodies should conduct a large-scale audit of budget programs to identify and exclude unreasonable and inefficient spending in the economic crisis, and also to take a more detailed approach to implementing the decisions of the OFAS.

Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, urged the republic's prosecutors to do more thorough work in the economic sphere. “I note the importance of the work of the prosecutor's office aimed at reducing doubtful operations and one-day firms, as well as suppressing the activity of pyramid schemes and tax migration of bankrupt companies”, he marked.

According to the President, the results of the research indicate that the pressure on business by the authorities has increased by 12%. Rustam Minnikhanov ordered prosecutors to take a more careful approach to choosing a preventive measure for the accused. The prosecutor of the RT expressed the same concern about the overcrowding of the insulators.

“Today the role of the prosecutor's office is noticeable and significant in almost all spheres of life”, said Rustam Minnikhanov. “The stability of our society largely depends on the clear and competent actions of the prosecutors. In the past year, the crisis in the banking sector has become a serious test for the republic. The prosecutor's office quickly reacted by organizing the work of deceived investors. 255 suits were sent to court, most of which are satisfied”.

Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that a republican support fund was established to help those affected by unscrupulous lending institutions. “At present, 2337 applications have been submitted to it, 689 of which are from individuals and 1638 ones from legal entities. We decided that the threshold for compensation to legal entities will be raised to 500 thousand rubles. At the moment, payments have been made to 120 organizations. We managed to remove social tension and ensure the rule of law by joint efforts”, said Rustam Minnikhanov. The President of the RT expressed confidence that the measures taken will allow solving the issue with the affected investors and will increase the economic stability of the region, preventing such incidents in the future.

The President of the RT drew attention to ensuring security in educational institutions. A wide response was caused by recent events in schools in Perm and Ulan-Ude. Ensuring the safety of young people is a priority and it requires comprehensive measures. “It is important to coordinate all involved authorities and organizations in the implementation of the developed integrated plan”, he said.

Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that the last year was declared the Year of Ecology and Public Spaces in the Republic. During this time, the prosecutor's office of the RT and the environmental prosecutor's office managed to achieve significant results. The boundaries of water protection zones and coastal protective bands in the republic have been determined, and the work on adjusting the coastal line of the Kuibyshevskoe and Nizhnekamskoe reservoirs has been completed.

“Sometimes you have to work in difficult conditions that require quick decision-making”, said Rustam Minnikhanov to the employees of the prosecutor's office of the RT. “Hasty and ill-considering in such conditions can create unnecessary tension in society and negatively affect the image of state bodies. I urge to the balance and wisdom in the conduct of your work”.
