The meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Directorate of Sports and Social Projects was held in Kazan
(KZN.RU, November 13). Today Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, took part in the 55th meeting of the Supervisory Board of the ANO “Directorate of Sports and Social Projects”. Vitaly Mutko, the deputy prime minister of the RF, held a meeting as a videoconference.
Leila Fazleeva, an assistant to the President of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Shamil Gafarov, the deputy prime minister of the RT and the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the RT, Vladimir Leonov, the minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of the RT, Azat Kadyrov, the general director of the ANO “Directorate of Sports and Social Projects”, and others also took part in the event.
In his opening speech, Vitaly Mutko noted that in 2017, Tatarstan hosted a number of major events. These include the Confederations Cup, the Red Bull Air Race, the international conference of ministers and senior officials responsible for physical education and sport (MINEPS VI), and others. In addition, the games of the World Cup-2018, the World Championship of Professional Skills “WorldSkills Competition-2019”, and the World Swimming Championships in short water in 2022 will be held in the republic in the coming years.
“We highly appreciate the activities of the Directorate and the Republic of Tatarstan regarding the organization and holding of major sporting events, as well as the development of sports in general”, said Vitaly Mutko. “Kazan has become a recognized sports center. You are entrusted with carrying out the most serious events, and they come to you willingly”.
Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to Vitaly Mutko and the Russian Ministry of Sport for the support rendered to the republic during the implementation of various projects.
“The main sporting event of the next year is the World Cup. The experience and opportunities of the Directorate will allow holding this event at the highest level”, said the President of the RT. “The work on preparing for the championship WorldSkills is going on as usual. The Directorate bears the main load in it as well”.
Rustam Minnikhanov added that earlier representatives of Tatarstan had studied the experience of holding the WorldSkills in Abu Dhabi.
Then the participants of the meeting discussed the results of the Directorate of Sports and Social Projects activities in 2017 and set tasks for the near future, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
