Marat Zakirov became the new president of the Tennis Federation of the RT

(KZN.RU, September 14, Mikhail Chentsov). Today, Marat Zaripov, the Major-General of Justice, the first deputy head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the RF for the RT, was elected the new president of the Tennis Federation of the RT at an extraordinary meeting of the organization in Kazan. The voting was held at the Kazan Tennis Academy. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, took part in an extraordinary meeting. Alexey Selivanovsky resigned as the president of the Federation due to with the transition to another job.

The Mayor supported the nominated candidate, noting that he knows Marat Zaripov well as a talented and multifaceted leader. Also, the head of the city reminded the audience of the great contribution that A. Selivanovsky, the ex-President of the Federation, made to the development of tennis in the republic. Ilsur Metshin also noted that big tennis in the republic and its capital received a strong urge to the development thanks to the support of Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, and Shamil Tarpischev, the president of the Tennis Federation of the RF.

“Just seven years ago, we could not imagine what level this sport will reach in Tatarstan. More than 50 events are held at the Kazan Tennis Academy, 13 of which are of an international level. They give us more and more reasons to be proud of you, dear friends. Big sport is like a diamond. Today, tennis in Tatarstan is one of the most beautiful, bright, and promising faces that shines brighter and brighter”, said the Mayor of Kazan.

Khalil Shaikhutdinov, the first deputy minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of the RT, noted achievements of Tatarstan tennis. “Annually tennis players of our team win more than 100 awards at tournaments of the all-Russian and international level. From 2012 to 2017, 12 members of the Tatarstan national team were awarded the title of Russian Masters of Sport”, he said. Kh. Shaikhutdinov also supported the nomination of Marat Zaripov. “I ask you to support a new candidate. We work closely, have a full understanding. He loves sports, table tennis, he is an active athlete, has a great desire to work. I hope that we will also continue to work with the same team, preserving and multiplying the traditions and achieving success”, he concluded.

In addition, Gennady Zhukov, the chairman of the coaching council of the Tennis Federation of the RF, greeted those present on behalf of Shamil Tarpishchev. “Shamil Tarpischev is in Peru. But, knowing about today's conference, he authorized me to convey words of great gratitude and respect to Alexey Selivanovsky. You all understand perfectly well that the beginning of any project is a very difficult stage. And the people who worked on the development of the new business deserve special attention and honor”, said G. Zhukov. He also noted that on behalf of the Tennis Federation of the RF supports a new candidate for the post of president of the Tennis Federation of the RT.

Marat Zaripov was unanimously elected as the new president Tennis Federation of RT according to the voting results, in which 81 of the 115 members took part. He thanked for the confidence shown to him. “Excellent conditions for sport are created in Tatarstan, the infrastructure is well developed, and beautiful sports facilities are functioning. Therefore, we have the right to see the success of our athletes both at the Russian and international levels. And our task is to achieve this result”, he said. At the end of the event, the new president of the Federation was given a token tennis racket.

Pavel Nikolaev, the head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the RF for the RT, Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Kazan Executive Committee, Ravil Nogumanov, the vice-president of the Tennis Federation of the RT, and others also attended the meeting.
