I. Metshin: ‘This year, we worked together to ensure that Kazan become even more comfortable for living”

(KZN.RU, December 31). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, congratulated the residents of the Tatarstan’s capital on the upcoming New Year.

“Dear Kazan citizens!

I warmly congratulate you on the coming New Year! With all my heart I thank you for your hard work in the name of prosperity of the city. You have once again confirmed that the civic unity is the basis of Kazan prosperity.

We lived in this difficult year of hard work. It was a year of gathering forces and their inspection, the year of creation and the launch of new projects. It is known that all the obstacles and difficulties are stages, in which we grow up. Kazan has also “grown” on a number of parameters. It is the second place in largest Russian cities with million population in terms of investment, 2 million square meters of renovated Kazan streets and yards, and 800 thousand square meters of new housing, and tens of thousands children who were born in 2016.

The great advantage of the year was the implementation of all planned programs. We did not cancel anything, not jammed, and not shelved. This year, we worked together to ensure that Kazan become more comfortable for living: landscaped parks, repaired roads, houses, yards, schools and kindergartens.

In addition, it was a year of strategic choice. Together with the citizens, we have identified what the city should be in 2030 and how to move in that direction.

Along with economic and social indicators, we have planned another major vector, leading to the “Good Kazan” by supporting everyone who needs help. I have no doubt that we will be able to achieve significant results in this way, because I believe in the kindness and compassion of Kazan citizens.

Very soon we will gather in a circle of relatives to step together in 2017. I hope that the coming year will be a bright and memorable and will bring positive change to every family.
