Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, met with Alexander Cheferin, the UEFA president
(KZN.RU, October 7). Today Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan and the president of the FC “Rubin”, held a meeting with Alexander Cheferin, the president of the UEFA. Ilsur Metshin said to the newly elected president of UEFA about football development in Kazan, the infrastructure of the FC “Rubin”, preparing the city for the Confederations Cup and the World Cup-2018.
The parties also paid great attention to the aspect of compliance of the FC “Rubin” to the concept of financial “fair play”. Ilsur Metshin told in detail about the steps that the Kazan club is taking to comply with the UEFA financial monitoring requirements, and expressed gratitude to the organization for cooperation with the club in this matter.
At the end of the meeting, Alexander Cheferin expressed hope for a speedy return of the FC “Rubin” in the European Cups. The Kazan team took part in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League twice and reached the quarterfinals of the Europa League.
