The Uritsky Park was opened after reconstruction in Kazan

(KZN.RU, August 30, Zilya Gayfi). The Uritsky Park opened in Kazan after reconstruction works, which were carried out in accordance with the views of citizens. The embankment landscaped, new pedestrian bridges installed, children's playgrounds and an amphitheater equipped in one of the largest urban recreation areas to the City Day and the Day of the Republic. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, and Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, evaluated the results of reconstruction of the park today, where the entertainment program was organized for residents to celebrate the Day of the City and the Republic.

The final project of reconstruction of Uritsky Park, designed by the Kazan architectural office “Evolution”, was presented to residents in June this year. After discussing the project with the Kazan citizens, builders began the first stage of work. The Uritsky Park concept is referred to as the “A favorite park since childhood”, so developers were asked to keep the atmosphere of a green park for walking, make it even more comfortable, and at the same time to fill the area functional.

During the walk, Rustam Minnikhanov and Ilsur Metshin talked a lot with the people, which were a lot in the park, in spite of the rainy weather. Kazan citizens thanked the President of Tatarstan and the Mayor of Kazan for the reconstruction. Rustam Minnikhanov and Ilsur Metshin congratulated citizens on the City Day and the Day of the Republic and wished happiness and prosperity from the stage.

Natalya Fishman, the assistant to the President of the RT, held a tour of the renewed park for the guests. She said that the reconstruction began with a large-scale work on the improvement of the water pond: the concrete bottom of the channel cleared and repaired and the lake embankment landscaped. The system of “spout” of water is set under three bridges and bottom aerators are installed in the lake. Also, a crack in the concrete bottom of the channel are eliminated, it broke sealing the bottom, so water was penetrating in the ground. In addition, the pier near CSC “Moskovskiy” fortified, new fencing installed, wooden slopes to the water equipped, and wooden house for ducks set on the lake and a pair of white swans released.

Pedestrian bridges - the central element of the park - have been updated. With the consent of the inhabitants, the locks, which the couples traditionally hung on the bridges, dismantled and shipped to temporary storage in the CSC “Moskovskiy”, the new bridges will not deform under their weight from now on. Special place was made for citizens, who choosing the Uritsky Park for a wedding photo session, where the photographer can vividly capture them.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the project arrangement of walkways, the current trace walkways and paths were taken into account. Citizens have worn two large transits, leading to street Vasilchenko: road along the fence at the Tasma (crosses the heating network) and the diagonally road from the Hospice (leads in the northwestern part of the park). Also, the transit, which will continue the cycling route from the Lake Lebyazhye on Korolev Str. towards the Vasilchenko Str., established at the request of cycling activists. These three tracks are paved and lighted. In addition, the laying of another pedestrian transit road width of 1.5 meters was approved under discussion at the request of residents. 50 benches with backs and the same number of ballot boxes were installed in the park.

Areas for walking of dogs, sports sites for basketball, volleyball, mini-football, area with outdoor fitness equipment (street workout), wood flooring-amphitheater for events, pavilions (toilets, rental, household premises), the canopy for the rain and the sun on the playground appeared in the park due to the reconstruction.

Reconstruction of the Uritsky Park will be continued next year. It is planned to repair the CSC “Moskovsiky”, build extreme-park and playground for teenagers, cycling area, open cafes and pave the “Alley of aviators”.

Vladimir Leonov, the minister of Youth and Sport of the RT, Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, Sergey Mironov, the head of the Kirovskiy and Moskovskiy districts administration, and others attended the event.
