Reconstruction options of the Kamal Theater presented in Kazan

(KZN.RU, 16 August). Reconstruction options of the Tatar State Academic Theatre named after Galiaskar Kamal presented in Kazan. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan got acquainted with preliminary design of today. The head of the republic visited the square adjacent to the building, lobby and balconies of the theater.

Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Azat Hamaev, the Minister of Land and Property relations of RT, Irek Faizullin, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the RT, Airat Sibagatullin, the Minister of Culture, Asgat Safarov, the head of the Office of the President, Leila Fazleeva and Natalia Fishman, assistants of the President of the RT, Tatiana Prokofiev, the chief architect of Kazan, and representatives of the theater took part in the discussion of the reconstruction project of the Kamal Theatre.

Reconstruction of the theater is directed primarily to the fact that the theater would have additional space: the rehearsal room and industrial premises. Farid Bikchantaev, the chief director of TSAT named after Kamal, and specialists of designing company gave explanations on the project. According to them, the current theater building, located in the center of Kazan on the shore of the lake Kaban, is an example of the Soviet postmodernism, so the reconstruction project has height restrictions.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that today the republic needs a functional building renovation project that would solve concrete problems: expanding rehearsal and production base. In addition, the building should be improved to make it more comfortable for the audience and for the acting troupe.

It is important to preserve appearance of the building, its style, marked the President, so it is need to take into account the features of the landscape, the environment, for the theater is located on the shores of the lake Kaban. "Today it is necessary to take care of things we already have”, said Rustam Minnikhanov. "Tatar Theatre named after Kamal is demanded, its plays are of interest for the audience. The building of the theater is organically inscribed in the architecture of the city, and now it is difficult to imagine Kazan and Kaban embankment without this sight - the theater with its remarkable roof”.

After discussion Rustam Minnikhanov visited the embankments and shore of the lake Kaban. The reconstruction in accordance with environmental sustainability, coherence of the territory, and the availability of a comfortable recreation for the citizens will also be carried out on Kaban embankments, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
