"Nomad’s Universe" exhibition opened in Kazan
(KZN.RU, June 2, by Renat Shirmanov). The President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited an exhibition of young Buryat sculptor, graphic artist and jeweler Dashi Namdakov, which opened in Kazan Hazine picture gallery.
The artist presented his work to the guests and spoke about his artistic concepts. One can see both ethnic traditions and classical European trends in Namdakov’s art. The exhibition features works in bronze, wood and mammoth tusk.
Dashi Namdakov was educated in Professor L. Golovnitsky’s studio at the Institute of Fine Arts. He had more than 14 solo exhibitions in major Russian and foreign museums. The sculptor’s works are featured in numerous private collections as well as in many citiesof the world. His sculpture of Genghis Khan will be installed in one of London’s squares.
Some 100 sculptures by the artist will be exhibited in Kazan’s Hazine gallery; five being installed outdoors.
