(Kazan City
KZN.RU, April 15). Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin chaired a meeting of Urban
Antiterrorist Commission. It was attended by representatives of the committees
and departments of the city Executive Committee, the Prosecutor's Office,
Interior Ministry and other structures. Participants discussed additional
measures for the prevention of extremism and terrorism in the capital of
Tatarstan.
Head of the
Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Kazan Valery Krasilnikov reported on
the situation of extremism and combating with terrorism in Kazan. Head department
of language development and interaction with public organizations of the
Executive Committee of the city Ilnur Shakirov added V.Krasilnikov’s report with
information on the situation with the monitoring of national and religious
extremism.
To enhance
the vigilance of the population was one of the issues on the agenda of the
meeting. The deputy head of Federal Security Service of Russia in RT Sergey Schelokov
told about the work done to participants. Also heads of administrations of the
capital of Tatarstan reported on activities in the districts of Kazan to the bureau
of the Commission.
In threat
of terrorist attacks transport infrastructure is particularly dangerous. Chairman
of the Committee on Transport Aydar Abdulhakov and deputy head of the Executive
Committee - Chairman of the Committee of improvements Igor Kulyazhev told about
the degree of protection of facilities of related infrastructure. In addition the
director of Municipal Unitary Enterprise "Vodokanal" Andrei Yegorov told
about the ongoing anti-terrorist activities in the enterprise.
At the end
of the commission's work Kazan prosecutor Oleg Drozdov announced targets for
anti-terrorism security of objects of the capital of Tatarstan.
The work of
the commission was also attended by the head of the Executive Committee Denis
Kalinkin, Security Council Secretary Airat Shafigullin, Head of Federal
Security Service of Russia in RT Dinar Khamitov, Deputy Minister of Internal
Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan - Police Chief Rafael Gilmanov.
