(Kazan City
KZN.RU, 17 February, Zilya Gayfi). Today Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin met with
members of the republican project "Personnel reserve". The Mayor gave
the students advice on how to become a successful leader and build team work in
government agencies.
More than
50 students of higher educational institutions of the city has gathered to listen
to the speaker in the free space "Dial" in the center of Kazan. They
had just returned from the second stage of the seventh season of republican
project "Personnel reserve" held at the youth center
"Volga". 90 people from several regions and cities of Tatarstan were the
participants of the second phase, including 58 people from Kazan, as well as
students who arrived to the Tatarstan capital from Mari-El, Penza and Kirov
regions, Bashkortostan and Udmurtia.
Ilsur
Metshin greeted the guys, thanking them for what they have found free time in their
busy schedule of work and study and came to the meeting. According to the head
of the city, this feature is inherent in a true leader, which the project
"Personnel reserve" is intended to raise. "People become the leaders.
Personally my story of success is related to the success of my city. As a child
I was captain of the hockey team in the yard, warden at school, one of the
first I was admitted in Komsomol. It is important to be always ahead. But
leadership imposes a double responsibility, because you have to work for the
people, to love them, to be able to listen and to unite in command,"- the
Mayor began the conversation and asked the students to question what is more
important - to be a successful manager or a happy man, forcing children to
think about. According to the speaker, it is important to find a balance.
Most of the
participants of “Personnel reserve" admit that they seek to get a job in municipal
or republican government after the project. Ilsur Metshin noted that the
prospect of work, for example, in the Mayor's Office or the district
administration is very tempting; however, as everywhere else, there are some
difficulties. "Working in the municipal authorities is a big, hard work,
which is 80% invisible, because people appreciate only results", - the Mayor
said. The Mayor cited Universiade-2013 and the World Championships in Aquatics
2015 as examples; they became the brightest pages of the history of the
millennial city and, according to the organizers - the best in the history of
these world events. Ilsur Metshin called successful holding of the World Cup in
2018 and the Championship of workers «WorldSkills» occupations in 2019 as the primary
objectives for the coming years.
As the
project "Personnel reserve" aims to identify promising young leaders,
students asked the Mayor of Kazan to give advice how to pick a team to work on
large projects. "Do not judge the employee on the first impression. The
principle is simple - you need to gather around you the most talented people.
In recent years large flow of those wishing to come to study, live and work in
Kazan increased. This shows that the capital of Tatarstan is attractive. But
the desire to earn a lot is a big risk for the young. First of all, you need to
become a good specialist, indispensable in your work and in your positions,"-
the Mayor advised.
During the
meeting, students asked questions about the governor, not associated with the
work of the local authorities. In particular, participants of the project
"Personnel reserve" was interested in the plans of the football club
"Rubin", whose president Ilsur Metshin is. "We are studying the
international experience to raise the "Rubin" to a decent standard. I
saw the best clubs of the world inside - "Arsenal",
"Juventus", "Tottenham", "Chelsea",
"Liverpool" and, you know, a bicycle is already invented. But Russia
does not have any football analysts in the structure of clubs or
sports-established supply system, there are other problems to be solved. We
have something to strive for,"- the Mayor said.
Session of
questions and answers was held in the format of a frank and dynamic
conversation, by the way, the head of Kazan held a half-hour conversation
standing - there were so many who want to ask questions to the speaker. In
conclusion, Ilsur Metshin handed books on personal development and the
development of leadership skills to the participants. "Write a book of your
life and follow a simple motto: today is better than yesterday, and then you
will succeed," - the Mayor advised and wished success to the participants
of the project. Students, in turn, thanked the head of the capital of the
Republic of Tatarstan for a detailed discussion of the project and gave him a
mentor certificate of the "Personnel reserve".
Recall
republican project "Personnel reserve" is being implemented in
Tatarstan since 2009. It is aimed at identifying, training and support of
talented youth.
