I. Metshin: "Culture of the service is the most important component of urban transport"

(Kazan City KZN.RU, December 14, Zilya Gayfi). Work to improve the culture of driving and maintenance among drivers and conductors of public transport should be continued. This opinion was expressed today at the Business Monday by Mayor Ilsur Metshin, summing up the month on road safety, held in the city from November 9 to December 9.

During the month special attention was paid to such distractions as smoking and talking on the phone while working on the line. In order to improve the culture of passenger service and reduce accidents on transport meetings with labor collectives, psychological trainings were organized at enterprises. On World No Tobacco Day on three stopping points for drivers of public transport event "Exchange cigarettes for sweets" was held.

According to the results of the month, 347 drivers-violators were punished, including 18 drivers were dismissed, 165 drivers were deprived of awards, 111 drivers were reprimanded, 24 drivers received warnings, and 29 - remarks.

Ilsur Metshin called the results of the month impressive. "The results speak for themselves. However, work to improve the culture of driving and maintenance among drivers and conductors of public transport should be carried out continuously and simultaneously with the renewing of the stock. In the near future we will please our residents and guests with new trolley buses and trams, "- said the Mayor.

According to the head of the city, the service culture is a major component of the work of urban passenger transport. "I was touched with the story of 29-year old conductor Leyla Hannanova who rebuffed two hooligans who tried to take away the mobile phone of one of the passengers. Thanks to the media for finding out the heroine and talking about it all over the city. This is a good reason to be proud. God give us that such cases did not exist, and if they are, then let it be an excuse to talk about what caring people are working with us on public transport,"- Ilsur Metshin said.

Also in the course of the Business Monday the Mayor of Kazan said about the victory of the motor transportation enterprise "MTE-4" in the Russian competition. "Our passenger motor company awarded attention at the federal level. "MTE-4" topped the rating and awarded prizes in two categories. It also speaks of the level of the work of our public transport, "- said the head of the city.
