(Kazan City
KZN.RU, November 30). Implementation of an unprecedented scale project of the transfer
of lines to underground continues in Kazan. Today 1023 kilometers of cable became
invisible to the eyes of Kazan residents. Also from June 2013 to November 2015
in the houses, buildings and lighting piers more than 115 km of ownerless
lines were liquidated. This was announced today at the Business Monday by the
head of the Department of Information Technology and Communications of the
Executive Committee of Kazan Rifat Khannanov.
According
to him, implementation of information technology continues to enter actively in
the daily life of Kazan residents - the basic indicators of the communications
industry are seen to have a steady growth. "390,000 Internet subscribers
and 345,000 cable TV subscribers are registered in the city. Mobile penetration
rate is 173%, that is, every citizen has 1.73 SIM card. Residents of 2212 houses
have the opportunity to view 24 digital television channels. At the same time
over the past five years the coverage of fixed telephone communication
decreased by 26%, the number of users is about 308 thousand", - Rifat
Khannanov said.
Implementation
of an unprecedented scale project of the transfer of lines to underground continues
in Kazan - 1023 km of cable were just removed under the earth, 1069 km still
remain to be removed. Carriers have attracted investments worth 1.6 billion
rubles, which will provide additional jobs and tax revenue. Together with the
Committee of housing and communal services, district administrations and
enterprises inspections to determine the presence of ownerless lines are
continuing.
Another new
project which will be implemented in the urban communication industry will be
the appearance of information module that allows storing information about the
number and status of deployed networks in houses, equipment and power supply
circuits on the portal "Open Kazan". Mayor Ilsur Metshin supported the
idea of creating a new module, noting that feedback from citizens will
improve the work of operators.
In general,
according to the head of the city, a lot of work to streamline the suspension
lines was made in Kazan. This matter is under special control of the President
of Tatarstan. "I remember in 2007 when we flew to Bangkok to declare Kazan
for the Universiade, we were shocked to see how black, covered with dust cable “noodle”
hanging above beautiful central avenues, clean and well-kept streets, colorful
skyscrapers. For them it was the biggest problem of the city. In Kazan and
Tatarstan, thanks to the support of our President, systematic work to
streamline the suspension lines is conducted, "- said the Mayor.
As Ilsur
Metshin noted, a lot of work still has to be done in houses and settlements.
"We see the mess with the suspension of lines in houses. Also attention
should be paid to our settlements; modern technology should come to them. We
have adopted strict rules of improvement, which are supported by major players
in the market. I thank them for that. We understand that the development of IT-
technologies should not be to the detriment of the external appearance of the
city. We will require strict compliance with all the requirements, "- said
the Mayor and instructed to monitor the situation with lines in the city.
