A "school-city" opens September 1 at st. Bondarenko in Kazan

(Kazan City KZN.RU, August 20, Zilya Gayfi). September 1 at st. Bondarenko in New Savinovsky district of Kazan a new school №179, intended for 1375 students, will open its doors. According to the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, its construction and putting into operation has great importance for the area, where there are 74 houses. The Mayor praised the readiness of educational facility to the new school year and the reception of children.

Today in the school building interior finishing work is completed - flooring is laid, installation of windows is done, walls are painted, doors and hardware are installed.

School at st. Bondarenko will become the largest and most unusual not only in the city but in the whole republic. In the project of educational facility a completely new approach was used - the concept of "school-city" providing active involvement in school life not only students, but also the residents of the area.

Ilsur Metshin examined learning units for primary and high school, a dining room, as well as a lecture hall, area of an art space, a small and a large auditorium. The Mayor pointed out that the school management has chosen the right approach - positioning itself as a social and cultural center for the residents of the entire area. Well-thought-out logistics of the building will allow transforming the large classrooms at public spaces. "This is not just an educational facility, but the center of extracurricular activities, where you can hold festivals, public events. The fact that you want to call it not just a school, but carry a certain brand, is very good, it points that a creative idea is already living in these walls, "- said the Mayor.

Much attention in the design of the infrastructure of the school has been given to the development of sports. Inside the building there are small and large gyms, dance hall, shooting at 50 m and a swimming pool, which is already flooded with water. Outside hockey, volleyball, basketball areas, running track and football field will be placed.

There are separate educational spaces for students of different ages. For example, elementary school will be located in separate block, with its own library, dance and theater halls. Blocks of middle and high school will be located in another part of the building. Separately, for students of 10 - 11 grades an auditorium will be provided, where it is planned to hold classes with professors of Kazan universities.

The peculiarity of the new school is the fact that it will have career-oriented character. The school plans to create a business center for the development of student government, center for public affairs, research centre, an information center for socialization and the acquisition of skills, practical skills center for laboratory tests, as well as a photo studio, film studio and school printing press. As part of the career guidance programs the school plans to establish cooperation with major universities in the city - KFU and KNRTU-KAI.

According to school director Elvira Naumova, the school is technically ready to welcome children, and teaching staff has already been formed. "We hired a team consisting of teachers of different age categories. Mainly staff consists of experienced teachers, but also there are young teachers that produce good creative. Teachers not only from Kazan, but also from other cities of the republic - Nizhnekamsk, Almetyevsk - have expressed the interest in our school, "- she said.

According Ilsur Metshin, construction of a school in the area, where there are 74 houses, has a great importance, as a lot of complaints were about the lack of kindergartens and schools here by residents. "This is a new, beautiful, bright and well-maintained school. It is important to fill it with ideological content, which largely depends on a properly selected team of teachers "- said the Mayor.
