In September a new park "Continent" will be opened in Kazan

(Kazan City KZN.RU, August 19, Albert Murtazin). Reconstruction of the park located on Yamashev Avenue is going in full swing in Kazan. In September, a children's park "Continent" will start its work, and the small Kazan residents will appreciate its landscaped area with many sports and entertainment venues. Mayor Ilsur Metshin appreciated progress in reconstruction and quality of work.

Park along the Yamashev Avenue was laid out in the 80s of XX century; its area was 2.4 hectares. Works on its reconstruction were not carried out even once. At the initiative of active residents partial improvement was made in the park - installation of children's playgrounds, planting trees and shrubs. The current large-scale renewal takes place in the framework of the Year of parks and gardens, declared by Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan. The area at Yamashev Avenue was included in the list of parks to be improved in 2015.

Renewal is realized at the expense of the budget of the Republic of Tatarstan and the investors' funds. In the production process the project has been significantly expanded. "The fact that the project has become even wider, and there even greater number of architectural forms, some original solutions appeared - it is a very grateful," - said Ilsur Metshin.

To date, work on the improvement of the park is almost completed – road works and paving, installation of the lighting system are in process. In the near future work on improvement of sports and entertainment venues will be finished. In general, the bulk of the work has already been done, and in September the park will start working. Ilsur Metshin praised the project itself and the quality of work carried out in the park. He thanked the investors, contractors and designers for their work.

The basis of the concept of the future park will be the globe with its continents, which will appear throughout the park. The park will consist of two "hemispheres", each of which will establish individual entertainment venues. In one of "hemispheres" will be a large open area designed for the installation of a Christmas tree and Christmas celebrations.

Other “hemisphere” will be a children's play area for children of all ages. The main feature of the park will become a children's playground in the form of a miniature of the Kremlin.

Closer to the road a special area for dogs will be equipped. A building with a family cafe is also planned to construct in the park. In summer residents will be able to arrange bicycle and rollers, and in the winter - skis and skates. Between the highway and the park a kind of buffer zone with artificial hills has been arranged. They will perform not only a decorative function, but also will protect people in the park from the noise and exhaust fumes.

During the inspection of the park Ilsur Metshin drew attention to the original litter-boxes as hippos. "This is a very simple solution, and not expensive. But any child would like to throw garbage here. The result is a fairytale town with an element of education ", - said the head of the city.

It is worth noting that 10 years ago parks and squares have been isolated islands on the map of the city. At the request of Ilsur Metshin common principles for the design of the city, as well as the high requirements for landscaping and gardening were worked out. According to firm conviction of the Mayor, in the next five years yard of each house will turn into a mini-park, and design of urban fringes will come into harmony with the appearance of the center. Kazan, according to residents and visitors, has become one of the most beautiful and cleanest cities in Russia. Through the efforts of Ilsur Metshin it became the capital of squares, parks and flowers.

"We say that there are 132 parks with total area of ​​276 hectares in Kazan, of which the approved program of revival of urban parks of this year includes 32 objects area of ​​146 hectares. But the program announced by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan is only the beginning. We must already think of new areas, new housing estates, about areas landscaped and adapted for recreational needs of Kazan residents and guests", - I. Metshin outlined the planned scope of work on improvement of urban spaces of Kazan.

Now  49 sq.m. of green areas with the norm of 25 sq.m.  fall within one resident of Kazan. This has become possible because implemented in recent years projects "100 gardens", "Green Record", "Blossoming Kazan". It is planned that at the end of the Year of parks and gardens declared in the republic, capital of Tatarstan will strengthen the status of a "green city" and would be more comfortable for its residents.
