Ilsur Metshin supported Russian men's water polo team

(Kazan City KZN.RU, July 27). Water polo preliminary round match between men teams of Russia and the United States took place today at the XVI Aquatics championship in Kazan. The game ended with the score 7: 6 in favor of the American team. Among the fans were Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, as well as the head coach of the Kazan water polo club "Sintez" Irek Zinnurov.

The match in water polo is the only game sport in the championship; it has collected an impressive army of fans who completely filled the stands of Arena for water polo. Throughout the match fans actively supported the Russian team. Nevertheless, the US national team players have started to score from the first round, beating the Russians with a score of 3: 1. In the second round Russian national team players have got the best, achieving a score of 1: 2 in their favor. In the third and fourth final rounds opponents drew to the results of 2: 2 and 1: 1. Thus, the match ended with a score of 7: 6 in favor of the American team. Goals scored in the game today: Alex Bugaychuk (3), Tony Azevedo (3), John Mann (1), Ivan Nagaev (1), Artem Odintsov (1), Luke Cupido (3), Constantine Stepaniuc (1).

Today, at the Arena for water polo 8 preliminary round matches among men will take place. After meeting with the US team, the Russian athletes will play against teams from Greece and Italy, included in the group B. The finals will be held on August 8.

Recall, XVI World Aquatics Championship passes from July 24 to August 9 2015 in Kazan. The games are attended by about 2,400 athletes from 190 countries. At competitions in Kazan record in the history of the championship amount of awards will be drawn - 75 sets in six sports.
