Ilsur Metshin: "The voters trust is expensive"

Three questions have been on the agenda of the enlarged session of the Political Council of Kazan local branch of the “Edinaya Rossiya” Russian political party which has taken place today in the "Kazan" NCC. The participants have discussed the results of the election campaign of Kazan City Duma deputies, the creation of the “Edinaya Rossiya” parliamentary faction in the representative body of the city and identified candidates and the deputy of the faction.

Ilsur Metshin, the Secretary of the Political Council of Kazan local branch of the party, the Mayor of Kazan, under whose chairmanship the last meeting has been held, first congratulated all presents with victory in Kazan City Duma, and thanked all the participants of the election campaign for “the party support and the great work done". It is worth recalling that after the elections in Kazan City Duma 67, 7% of voters have given their votes for the “Edinaya Rossiya” in Kazan. Thus the ruling party has won 42 parliamentary mandates out of 50. "This is the best result among the multi-million cities of Russia in which municipal elections have been held", Ilsur Metshin said.

Nevertheless for the first time the multi-party representative body has formed in the history of Kazan. Apart from the "Edinaya Rossiya" 3 places will be occupied in Kazan City Duma by the representatives for the Communist Party and the Liberal Democratic Party and two places by the "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" Party.

As Ilsur Metshin noted the “Edinaya Rossiya” victory is the result of a major focused work on improving Kazan life. "It was important to show people that despite the difficult post-crisis period the authority controls the situation, that we have a clear vision of the future prospects for the long term", the Secretary of the Political Council of Kazan local branch of the party said, “voters have appreciated it and gave us a great confidence. And this costs expensive in our difficult time".

The Mayor also called all the elected members to involve in work actively, to unite the efforts of all elected members of the “Edinaya Rossiya”. "It will be difficult in conditions of the multi-party municipal "parliament “. We have to think how we will create the work of our deputies. We have taken upon ourselves an enormous responsibility. The voters will not forgive our mistakes", Ilsur Metshin summed up.

The Members of the Political Council have also agreed on the formation of the “Edinaya Rossiya” parliamentary faction in Kazan City Duma. Demand for a faction formation is registered in the Charter of Party and the Charter of Kazan. "We need to determine the date of the first organizational meeting”, Nail Khusnutdinov, the Head of the Local Executive Committee of the Party reminded, “it must take place before the first session of the Deputies of Kazan City Duma of second convocation.

It is planning that the meeting of the faction will be held no later than October 22. One of the topics discussed will be the election of the Head and the Deputies of the faction.
