(Kazan, KZN.RU, June 3, by Adelya Galieva) Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin presented republican and municipal awards in City Hall for significant contributions to the preparation and conduct of events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Opening the awards ceremony, the mayor noted that it was impossible during a single event to mention all those who participated in the preparation for the most important holiday of our country. "In fact, all Kazan had been preparing: our children, students, industry, public organizations and entrepreneurs. It was a common impulse! No one did this under duress, no one had to be called upon to act. Everyone thought it an honor and a duty to lovingly prepare for that event," said I. Metshin, expressing his sincere gratitude to all concerned citizens.
Special thanks were addressed to Ilshat Fardiev, the head of the Board of Trustees of Victory Park. "I would like to thank you, your company and all those who took part in the reconstruction of Victory Park. It was really worth the effort! It was a feat of labor! I sincerely thank you for this gift to our
veterans," said Ilsur Metshin and expressed gratitude to the CEO of OAO "Setevaya Kompaniya" on behalf of the president of the Republic of Tatarstan and the mayor of Kazan.
Awards were also presented to the heads of industrial enterprises of the city, heads of socially responsible businesses, cultural figures, as well as to the heads of City Hall departments and the heads and deputy heads of the city administration.
The final chord of the festival was a performance of the State Chamber Choir, who sang a medley of wartime songs.
