(Kazan, KZN.RU, February 3, by Albert Murtazin). A machine designed for heat exchange among the inhabitants of nine Russian cities was launched in Kazan today. The “sportomat” was launched in the "Olympic Change" project and tested by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
Some of the titled athletes – Nailya Gilyazova, Svetlana Demina, Irek Zinnurov, Anastasia Kolesnikova, Vasily Mosin, Sergey Demin – also tested the heat exchanger. They were joined by volunteers who participated in international sporting events held in Kazan.
The machine makes possible heat exchange with residents of other participating cities. Similar sportomats were installed in nine other cities of Russia: Moscow, Samara, Ufa, Omsk, Rostov-on-Don, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg and St. Petersburg.
In order to transfer heat, one should select a city and run in place for 30 seconds. Once the heat has accumulated, it will automatically go to the selected city. After that, the machine will take a photo of the participant. Within 30 seconds, to feel the warmth that has been sent from the original city, one has to press the "warm up" button. This time, the machine takes a picture of the other participant and assigns him/her a unique number by which s/he can find the heat “donor” on the project website.
Ilsur Metshin talked with the athletes and volunteers and tested the machine himself. The mayor noted that such new "gimmicks" that exist not only in the capital of Tatarstan, but also in other Russian cities, promote sports and a healthy lifestyle. He expressed the hope that such ideas will be proposed as often as possible and promised to provide support for their implementation. In conclusion, the mayor of Kazan had his picture taken with the participants and wished everyone good health.
