(Kazan, KZN.RU, October 27, by Adelya Galiyeva) On November 1, the13th literary and music festival "Aksyonov Fest" will kick off in Kazan. A new project will be launched this year – the publication of collected works by young Tatar authors with interlinear Russian translation. The deputy head of the Kazan Culture Department Azat Abzalov spoke at today's Business Monday meeting about other innovations expected at the upcoming festival.
Azat Abzalov said that the Vasily Aksyonov House will traditionally be the main venue of the festival. This year's festival program is quite extensive: from November 1 to 3, thematic meetings, workshops, round tables, presentations of new books and literary projects will be held in the V. Aksyonov House. One of the festival highlights will be the presentation of a theatrical and musical performance "The Story as Big as a Palm," which was especially staged for the Kazan public and will be shown on November 3.
" On the final day of the festival, the literary prize "Ticket to the Stars" will be awarded. The names of the two winners will be announced in Kazan City Hall on November 4," said A. Abzalov. On the same day, a new project will be launched in conjunction with the Tatarstan Union of Writers – the publication of collected works by young Tatar authors with interlinear Russian translation.
Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin noted the importance of the festival to Kazan. "In general, 'Aksyonov Fest' is a landmark event in the cultural life of the city. And it is not just because we remember the creative work of our outstanding compatriot Vasily Aksyonov. He is our pride and part of the history of our city. The festival is also a good opportunity for the young talents of Russia and Tatarstan to express themselves," said the mayor. Ilsur Metshin approved the initiative of publishing books with interlinear translation, noting that this is a good way to promote young Tatar writers.
