(Kazan KZN.RU, July 24, by Adel Galiyev). Another attraction appeared in the capital of Tatarstan, right on the pavement outside the family center "Kazan" -- a large-scale tabloid newspaper, which is designed to remind about the upcoming 2015 FINA World Aquatic Championships. Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, together with 200 residents and volunteers, attended the opening ceremony.
The object of art is a composite panel attached to the pavement in front of the family center with transparent glue. The huge and bright 204-square-meter newspaper tells visitors about the upcoming championships and acquaints them with interesting facts and legends associated with water sports.
"I think the tabloid is a highly creative idea. The more beautiful, creative ideas we have, the more interesting our championship will be," said Ilsur Metshin, endorsing the new Kazan attraction.
At the end of the opening ceremony, Ilsur Metshin reminded that Kazan has another year of work before the World Aquatic Championship. "We cannot rest on our laurels, we would like to make headway not only in the quantity and quality of sports facilities that we have to prepare as a host city in keeping with the terms of the contract. We must make our city more attractive – lay out more flower beds, plant more trees, repair roads and building facades," the mayor outlined plans for the coming year.
