(KZN.RU, September 30, by Taisiya Basharkina) A new phase of the "Green record" project kicks off in Kazan. This fall, the city will be decorated with 40,000 new trees.
Given the experience of last year's planting, this fall preference will be given for hardwoods: elm, linden and Lombardy poplar. These trees will be planted along main roads, while conifers will be planted in yards, squares and parks. All in all, about 9 thousand new trees will be planted in yards, 13 thousand along main roads and 2 thousand in parks and squares.
Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin noted that after launching the heating season, the "Green Record" project is the most important task of the fall. "Thanks to the "Green Record", we see a changed city. We were pleasantly surprised by active participation of Kazan residents in the project, as well as by the involvement of businesses, industries, schools and universities. We hope that the "Green Record" will become a tradition," said I. Metshin.
Recall that last season almost 48 thousand trees and 20 thousand bushes were planted in Kazan.
