Ilsur Metshin: «On September 1, we will welcome our students here. Both children and parents are waiting for school»

By September 1, another school for 1,224 students will open in Kazan under the national project «Youth and Children». The school will have two gyms, swimming pools, a canteen for 408 students, and an assembly hall. On the school grounds, a football pitch with running tracks, basketball and volleyball courts, and areas for other games will be installed. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of construction onsite.

The Mayor held an onsite meeting at school in the Sovetsky city district on Tazetdinova Street. It is planned to complete the work by August so the school can open on September 1. Currently, the project is 20% complete.

The school is being built under the national project «Youth and Children». The design of the school will be coordinated with the Kazan Development Institute.

«Almost 15,000 residents will live in the new neighborhood near the Noksa River, and their number is expected to grow. This is the third school that has been built in this area in recent years, and it has a capacity of 1,224 students. The school will be equipped with all necessary facilities, including two swimming pools, a gym, classrooms, spacious recreational areas, and a canteen. The location of the school is very good. Children will be able to receive their education within walking distance from their homes and develop their skills. The deadlines are tight, but the construction workers have experience. The work has been organized in a way that allows our students to start school on September 1. Both children and parents are waiting this new school», – Ilsur Metshin said.

A new school is located on Tazetdinova Street, next to kindergarten №162. Currently, 15,000 people live in the residential area, and with the construction of the new apartment buildings, their number will grow several times.

The school will have an area of 24,500 square meters. There will be 74 classrooms on four floors, 20 of which will be for elementary schools. Gyms will be located on the first and second floors, while two swimming pools and a spacious canteen with 408 seats will be on the ground floor.

An assembly hall with 552 seats will be located on the second floor. In addition, 10 more seats will be provided for disabled children. To create an accessible environment, two elevators will be installed in the hall.

After the construction work is completed, the workers will begin landscaping the school yard. The landscaping area will be more than 6,700 square meters. A football pitch, running tracks, basketball, and volleyball areas will be equipped for children. Two playgrounds are also planned to be built.
