The landscaping of a full-size football pitch with race tracks has been
completed at one of the oldest sports schools of Kazan Motor on Leningradskaya
Street. The work carried out under the republican program of 2023 was inspected
by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. Young athletes demonstrated their football
skills to the head of the city on the new pitch. The Mayor of Kazan handed new footballs
to the trainees of the sports school.
Director of the Motor Sports School Sergey Kupriyanov noted in a
conversation with the Mayor that the sports school had been waiting for renovation
for almost 25 years. The institution has a 70-year history. Ilsur Metshin congratulated
the children and the management on the completion of renovation and landscaping
works. The head of the city wished them new sporting achievements.
According to the head of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports of
Kazan Linar Garipov, renovation of the sports school took place in stages. This
summer, three new race tracks, a jumping pit, lighting and fencing elements
were installed along the pitch, and a playground with outdoor workout equipment
was also equipped.
Now five training sections are open in the sports school: football,
judo, boxing, rock climbing and freestyle wrestling. 542 children practice
sports there, and 16 teachers train. The football section is the most popular –
263 children have chosen it, 131 people are engaged in judo, 60 children and
teenagers are engaged in boxing, 40 children are engaged in freestyle
wrestling, 48 practice rock climbing.
Not only children, but also adults train at the stadium. For example,
athletics tracks are in demand among Kazan residents.
“The track is great. Before that, I used to run on asphalt and the
ground – it was uncomfortable. At first we gathered in the Kryliya Sovetov Park,
then we were offered to train at the stadium of the Motor sports school. We
like it here,”- said one of the adherents of the healthy lifestyle.
Previously, the front of the building, the roof and the sports hall with
locker rooms were repaired, windows and the engineering system were replaced.
The judo and boxing classes were also repaired, the building was also painted
and finishing works were carried out on three floors. The main part of the work
was carried out in an old building built in 1949 on the basis of a
motor-building plant.
During the reconstruction, the design capacity of the sports venue
increased, the capacity of almost all premises including two locker rooms
expanded. Besides, after the renovation, a climbing wall was equipped.
Sports schools Ak Bure and Raketa are being renovated as well.
