Chyornoye Ozero to become park of nationalities August 30
(KZN.RU, August 20, by Taisiya Basharkina) The capital of Tatarstan continues its preparations for the celebration of one of the most popular holidays -- City Day and the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The main venue of the City Day celebrations this year will be the Chyornoye Ozero park, which for one day will turn into a kind of park of nationalities. Each ethnic group living in the city will be able to demonstrate its creativity here. The multinational holiday theme is no accident: this year the Assembly of the Peoples of Tatarstan is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
The decision to move the City Day celebrations from the traditional Millennium Square and the Bulak canal venues is due to the construction of a new transport interchange at the Kremlin, the reconstruction of the Lenin levee and of the bridge over the Kazanka. Chyornoye Ozero has always been involved in the August 30 celebrations as a venue for thematic exhibits; this year, the main activities will take place here.
