Kazan street art and graffiti festival to become an annual event
(KZN.RU, July 19, by Alina Rozanova) The festival of street art and graffiti «Like It. Art »will be held in Kazan on an annual basis. This was stated by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin during a meeting with an international team of writers who are painting four nine-storey buildings in the Novo-Savinovsky district. In total, the «Like It. Art » festival monumental paintings will appear on 27 buildings all over the city.
The mayor thanked the Russian and foreign masters of street art and graffiti for coming to Kazan and invited them to take part in the festival next year. "We want the festival to become an annual event. There are a lot of residential and industrial buildings in the city that we would be happy to make available to writers so that they could display their talents. The first works we have seen show that the festival is a venue where the interests of the artists and of the city match," said Ilsur Metshin.
In a conversation with the mayor, the festival participants noted that the Kazan Festival is one of the largest in Europe in terms of the number of writers, provided space and materials, and highly praised its organization.
The street art and graffiti festival is being held for the first time in the city within the framework of the «MadeinKazan» project with the support of Kazan City Hall.
