Today, the
ceremony of awarding Kazan Mayor’s scholarships for the results of 2021 took
place at the City Hall. This year, 300 applications were submitted for the
scholarship, about 90 winners – talented and promising young people - took part
in the ceremony. The most interesting scientific projects of young scientists
will be put into practice and will allow improving various spheres of urban economy,
said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, congratulating the winners of the
competition.
“We can learn a lot of new and useful things from the
works of the scholars”
“Kazan, as a youth development center, is the flagship of interesting and
useful initiatives for our entire republic– the head of the city said. - Thanks
to talented, hardworking and professional engineers, architects, economists,
scientists and other professionals, our city and the republic are changing for
the better year after year”.
The projects submitted for the competition contain bold, innovative
proposals, the Mayor added. He called on the heads of structural divisions of
the Executive Committee of the city to take the projects of young contestants
into work and put them into practice – in particular, developments in medicine,
culture, education and urban economy.
The competition for Kazan Mayor’s scholarships is growing every year. Since
this year, along with creative youth, young athletes who represent the city at
the major national and international championships were honored. In addition,
young people who have worked on projects within the Year of Native Languages
and National Unity announced in Tatarstan deserve encouragement and gratitude.
Students will implement scientific works in urban
economy
The scholarship award ceremony took place in several stages: the first scholarships
were awarded to students of art schools, then to students of sports schools.
One of them was presented by a young scholar of the children's music school
No.11 Dmitry Ovsyannikov, who masterfully performed the composition, admiring
the participants of the event with his talent. Dmitry is a laureate of 27 International
and All-Russian competitions.
After that, the Mayor awarded scholarships to the winners of the
competition of scientific works - students and postgraduates of universities
and professional educational institutions. Among the awardees was Vasily
Basenko, a student of Kazan State Power Engineering University, who has
developed a new safer and more effective method for diagnosing transformer
equipment.
Ivan Bondarenko, a student of the KIU named after Timiryazev, who proposed
to green the stations of the Kazan metro with stabilized moss and install the
so-called phyto-columns.
A student of Kazan State University of Culture Idaliya Ziganshina, who
developed a methodology for teaching choreography in creative inclusive groups,
addressed the participants of the ceremony on behalf of the awardees. She
thanked the teachers and coaches for their hard work.
For any city, it is important to support young people in creative search
and help them in scientific and practical researches, the Mayor emphasized. “Ultimately,
your ideas become the basis for your future. Go ahead in your creative work and
don’t be afraid of difficulties”, - the head of the city summed up.
