The
construction of an outdoor sports and recreation venue has been completed at
the Moskovsky district of Kazan at the school No.130 on Khimikov Street. Now
schoolchildren and residents of nearby houses will have the opportunity to play
football, basketball, athletics, as well as workout on this sports ground.
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, congratulated the children on the long-awaited
event.
Ilsur
Metshin hoped that the new sports complex will help to engage even more Kazan
residents to a healthy lifestyle. “Today, more than 50% of Kazan residents are
engaged in sports, and this sports ground will become another reason to choose
a healthy lifestyle,”- Ilsur Metshin said, adding that the number of sports venues
is growing every year in Kazan.
The sports
and recreation venue includes a football pitch with an artificial surface 30x60
meters, tracks with a total area of 1,436 sq. m, equipment for streetball and
workout, a basketball ground, stands for spectators. Not only students of
school No.130, but also pupils of the Smena football club, as well as residents
of nearby houses will be able to practice sports here.
Students of
schools No.130 and No.70 were among the first to practice sports on the new pitch.
Today the guys played a friendly match. The head of the city presented the
teams with balls and made a ceremonial pass on the new field.
Ilsur
Metshin also inspected the hockey rink, where the team from the Irbis floorball
club held a master class for students of school No.70. The head of the city
talked with the students of the club and wished success in the Russian
championship.
After
visiting the sports ground, the Mayor of Kazan visited the canteen of school
No.130, where overhaul was carried out this year. After the renovation, the canteen
was expanded, as well as kitchen equipment was updated and furniture was
purchased.
