In 2020, the Kazan Municipality saved more than 1 billion
rubles on procurement. “With the relatively largest budget among the one-million
person cities have learned to work more efficiently, and as a result, the Kazan
has a reputation of one of the most dynamic developing cities” – said the Mayor
of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at today's Business Monday meeting.
The pandemic has affected most areas of the urban economy,
and the procurement sector is no exception. Thus, over the past year, municipal
customers initiated and placed 799 competitive procedures for 6.6 billion
rubles. Compared to the same period last year, the volume of municipal
procurement decreased by 11%, the number of procurement procedures decreased by
30%, head of the Directorate for Competition Policy and Procurement of Kazan
Ilshat Salimzyanov reported.
In total, in 2020, the total savings on procurement of local
government customers, unitary enterprises and joint-stock companies of the city
amounted to more than 1 billion rubles.
“Cost-effective budgetary expenditure is one of the main
criteria for evaluating the work of the municipality, officials, and municipal
enterprises. Precisely because we know how to work with heart and soul, Kazan
is today an actively developing city”, - the Mayor said.
Savings on procurement affected almost
all the structures of the municipality, said I. Salimzyanov. To achieve savings
at the tender, according to him, it was possible due to the high competition of
potential suppliers.
