The projects of
a sports complex for gymnastics and acrobatics in the Salavat Kupere
residential area, a basketball center in the Vesna residential complex, an ice rink
on Gavrilov Street and a swimming pool in the Zhilploshadka are ready. “Our
goal is to provide every remote area of the city with affordable sports venues.
It does not matter a village, the Salavat Kupere district or a residential area
of Yudino”, - Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of the Tatarstan capital, said today at the
Business Monday at the Executive Committee of Kazan.
In 2021, Kazan
will continue to implement programs for reconstruction, renovation and
construction of sports infrastructure facilities. According to the chair of the
Committee of Physical Culture and Sports Albert Salikhov, today it has been
decided to build two specialized sports venues: a sports center for gymnastics
and acrobatics on the territory of the Salavat Kupere district and a basketball
center in the Vesna residential complex.
In addition, the city will have two mini-football pitches
at the school № 65 and Ak Bure sports school. Two more basketball and
volleyball courts will be built on the territory of schools № 41 and 43. It is
also planned to build a judo sports complex at the Tasma sports school, an
indoor ice palace on Gavrilov Street, a Beach Sports Center on Sibgat Khakim
Street and a dry land swimming hall to the Olympietz indoor pool.
In addition to the construction, the reconstruction of
sports venues will also be carried out.
As the Mayor noted, these venues are just as important
as the development of territories, construction of schools and kindergartens,
health facilities. “It serves for training children, teenagers, this is a
healthy lifestyle for all Kazan residents without exception: young,
professional athletes, and the elderly population. Therefore, the development
of sports infrastructure is an important part of our party program “Healthy society”,
– summed up the Mayor of Kazan.
