(KZN.RU, February 22, by Taisiya Basharkina) Work has already begun at 11 Kazan cultural heritage sites, which are due to be restored before the Universiade by the ASG investment group of companies. Today, Mayor Ilsur Metshin and Chairman of the Board of Directors Alexei Semin examined a number of buildings where the reconstruction has already started.
They examined the houses at 26 Tukay, 68 and70 Moskovskaya and 18 Karl Marx streets. As Ilsur Metshin noted, the early start of reconstruction of the historical center is a good example for other investors.
The building at 18 K.Marx Street, has already been prepared for reconstruction; it has been cleaned up and protective mesh has been installed. According to Ilsur Metshin, the city authorities will literally lead investors by the hand and provide maximum support should they encounter any problems with documentation or other formalities.
It is worth mentioning that the agreement between Alexei Semin’s company and Kazan City Hall was signed last week. In keeping with it, the company undertakes to restore 17 historical sites, including those in Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda, on Tukay and Narimanov streets as well as historically valuable buildings on Bauman, Moskovskaya and Karl Marx streets
All objects will be restored on the basis of quarterly reconstruction. In the first stage, ASG plans to restore the facades in accordance with the archival sources. In the second stage, the buildings will be filled with period objects from the International Institute of Antiques thus recreating the atmosphere of the time of their construction.
