Tatarstan and
Kazan were once again highly praised by Russian President Vladimir Putin. At a
meeting of the Council for Local Self-Government development in Krasnogorsk,
Moscow region, the head of state noted that the region and its capital are in constant
search of innovations. According to the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, this
indicates that the right growth vector has been set. “Of course, it makes us
happy, but at the same time it imposes responsibility, we must work even
better, more professionally and systematically”, - the mayor said today at a Business
Monday at the Executive Committee.
I.Metshin noted
that the meeting was attended by members of the new Government of the country, deputy
Prime Ministers. The Council was dedicated to the participation of
municipalities in national projects. According to the mayor, the most important
thing is that the projects provide for development of specific measures in all
spheres of life – in education, ecology, health, and road infrastructure. “We
were expecting this conversation, and most importantly-the results that will
follow it. We see changes, one of the obvious examples is the construction of
the Big Kazan ring as part of the project “Safe and high-quality roads”. And
you can imagine how life of municipalities throughout the country is changing,”
- he noted.
The mayor of Kazan told that before a meeting with the
President of Russia, he held a meeting with colleagues, mayors of other cities -
members of the Association of cities of the Volga region. The main problem,
which, according to the mayors of the Volga cities, it was necessary to say at
a meeting with the head of the country – is an outdated communal
infrastructure. “Therefore, it was good to hear the statement of the Minister
of construction and housing and communal services of Russia Vladimir Yakushev
and Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin that the time has come to renovate
the communal infrastructure”, – the mayor said.
The lack of financing for the implementation of the
municipalities authorities was also discussed at the meeting of the Council. “We
hope that the voiced issues will find their solution, in any case, this was
stated and it gives hope for a better tomorrow,” - I.Metshin concluded.
