Today, the Kazan
City Hall hosted a traditional charity New Year's masquerade ball. At the
invitation of the mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, its participants were 200
children from large and low-income families, as well as prize-winners and
laureates of various city competitions and exhibitions. The head of the city
congratulated the children on the upcoming New Year. Today, about 900 Kazan
children will see the performance “Overslept beauty”. Tomorrow, the young
charges of the ANO “Good Kazan” are invited to the New Year tree at the City
Hall.
Young spectators watched the fairy tale “Overslept
beauty” based on the works of Charles Perrault, Alexander Pushkin, Vasily
Zhukovsky and the Brothers Grimm, as well as performances of the best Kazan
musical, dance and creative groups. Many children prepared for the presentation
in advance and came to the festival in the costumes of their favorite
characters. The interactive format of the fairy tale also allowed the children
to become a part of the show.
For the first time, the New Year's masquerade was held
at the Kazan City Hall in 1856. A pleasant custom was revived 4 years ago.
