(KZN.RU, January 17, by Taisiya Basharkina). A Muslim education and rehabilitation center for the visually impaired will be built at the junction of Moscow and Kirov districts of Kazan.
The foundation stone for the center was laid on Serova Street back in 2008. The construction suspended due to the crisis has been resumed.
Those who wish to learn the basics of Islam and study the Koran come to Kazan from Russia and former Soviet republics, such as Belarus, Ukraine, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. The training and rehabilitation center for the visually impaired, currently located in the village of Levchenko, cannot accommodate all those wishing to learn the basics of Islam.
The complex to be built on Serova Street will include a mosque with a prayer hall, a dormitory for non-residents, a cafeteria, computer labs, a library and a mini printing press. The premises will meet all standards for the disabled (they will have ramps, handrails at different levels, special furniture, etc.).
