The results of the contest "Blooming Kazan" and "Flower festival" were summarized in the capital of Tatarstan

Today, the winners of the contest “Blooming Kazan” and “Flower festival” were named in the Kazan City Hall. The best works were chosen by the residents of the city during the online voting. The mayor of the Kazan Ilsur Metshin presented awards to the authors of the best designs of the yard’s decoration, buildings frontage and adjacent territories of the enterprises.

Welcoming the participants of the ceremony, the mayor reminded that the contest “Blooming Kazan” is held for the sixth year. “Thanks to you, our beloved city turns into a scented garden, pleasing with its beauty the citizens and tourists”, - I.Metshin addressed the contest participants.

The contest develops every year, said the mayor. “This year, the total area of flower planter in Kazan amounted to 59 thousand square meters, and the number of planted flowers exceeded seven million", - I.Metshin said. “These bright colors have become special decorations of our city, including for all the guests and participants of WorldSkills 2019 championships”.

Traditionally, special attention was drawn to the volume floral plant designs, the head of the city added. There were 24 of them this year, including 11 new, among them were the mascots of Worldskills 2019 championship – Almaz and Altyn at the Millennium square.

Professional florists and hobbyist could apply for participation in the contest program. In total, this year the contest received 308 applications, 8499 residents and guests of the city gave their votes for the contestants.

There were several nominations for the contest participants: "Best frontage design", "Best yard design", "Best design of the adjacent territory for organizations and enterprises", "Best design of the territory adjacent to the educational institution", "Original flower design", "Best flower frame in an urban environment».

The magnet for thousands of residents and guests of the capital of the Republic has become the area in front of the Puppet theater “Ekiyat”, where “Flower festival” was held for the fifth time, the mayor said. “At the festival site, you could enjoy real works of landscape art”, - he said. - It is especially nice that this creativity was seen by foreign participants and fans of WorldSkills 2019 championship from all over the world". In total, 32 flower designs on an area of 23 thousand square meters were presented at the festival site.

The contest for the participants of the “Flower festival” was held in five categories: “Flower compositions from potted plants”, “Volume designs”, “Flower waltz”, “Small garden” and “Popular vote”.

“It is pleasant to note that not only professional florists and landscapers, but also enterprises, business institutions, management companies, as well as concerned citizens contribute to the flower decoration”, - I.Metshin noted. – We received a creative and willing approach. And we all say “thank you” for your love for the city and for making our lives brighter, sharing your creativity and giving people joy!”.
