The improvement of the Kazanka left embankment were discussed in the Government House of the RT

(KZN.RU¸ April 20). Yesterday, Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, held the meeting on the improvement of the embankment of the left bank of the Kazanka River. The meeting took place in the House of Government of the RT. Ilsur Metshinm, the Mayor of Kazan, Natalia Fishman, an assistant to the President of the RT, Irek Faizullin, the minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services of the RT, Olesya Baltusova, an assistant to the President of the RT, representatives of other ministries and departments of the republic took part in the work.

The presentation of the concept for the development of coastal areas was made by Edward Moreau, an architect, co-founder of Orchestra Design Studio. The concept assumes the complex development of public spaces from the Millennium Bridge to the Kirovskaya Dam. In particular, the project provides the creation of three main activity zones: the Festival Quarter, the Knowledge Park and the Youth Park. The Festival Quarter is an active public space at the foot of the Kazan Kremlin. This territory provides for the organization of cultural events of various sizes, interesting for citizens and guests of Kazan of all ages.

The knowledge park is a natural-educational park on the territory of the present National Cultural Center “Kazan” with various activities that acquaint visitors with the history and culture of the RT. The complex development of the territory will allow creating a new format of library space and reviving the natural ecosystem of the territory.

When creating the Youth Park at the Millennium Bridge, the authors of the concept propose to focus on the sports component. In particular, to organize there sports fields for ball games, as well as create comfortable pedestrian areas.

Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that the improvement of the embankment is a necessary stage, which makes it possible to make the coastal zone attractive both for Kazan residents and guests. He instructed to continue the work on the implementation of this project and carefully consider the proposals submitted during the presentation.

Also during the meeting, the President of the RT was presented a concept for the reconstruction and construction of medical facilities, taking into account the healing environment. The new approach involves the combination of socio-psychological factors with architecture, which also contributes to the recovery of patients, according to experts.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that a great deal of work is being done in the country on modernizing healthcare facilities, and suggested making more active use of progressive approaches in developing, designing and implementing these projects, reports the press service of the President of RT.
