(KZN.RU,
January 30, Alena Miroshnichenko). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, assessed
the work of one of the specialized WorldSkills centers of competence, located
in Kazan Trade and Economic College. Experts in the areas of “Restaurant
service”, “Hairdressing” and “Photography” are prepared there to the
WorldSkills Championship.
Ilsur
Metshin inspected the student restaurant training ground, the cooking
technology laboratory, the training bar and restaurant. The Mayor of Kazan said
about the willingness to help Kazan students to prepare more carefully and
perform successfully at WorldSkills, at the last Business Monday. “We will
definitely visit specialized centers of competence. We will talk to curators,
coaches, future participants. We will discuss what else can be done so that in
the remaining time they can raise the level of their skill. We will definitely
help them in this”, said I. Metshin.
Speaking
with students, members of the national team, winners of WorldSkills
championships of past years, the head of the city asked what the future
participants of the world championship lacked in order to win the competitions.
Anna Zlygosteva, a last year’s silver medalist at the WorldSkills Young
Professionals Championship in the “Culinary Art”, noted that she and her
teammates are fully provided with training places and supplies. Aisylu
Nurutdinova, the winner of the last year’s competition in the field of
“Restaurant Service”, said that the most difficult was stressful situations and
psychological pressure. Another obstacle may be lack of English knowledge,
according to Timur Kayumov, a student and a future bartender.
“Children
need to undergo psychological training, analyze stressful situations,
understand how to behave, how to control themselves. You can learn this as well
as cooking. Everyone has their own weaknesses. The individual work is needed
here”, marked I. Metshin. He instructed Ildar Shakirov, the deputy head of the
Executive Committee in charge of transport, economic development and trade, to
create conditions to help children show the best result, including pass psychological
trainings, as well as improve their English. The most important training point,
according to Ilsur Metshin, should be an internship for children in the best
institutions in the world.
“Certainly,
each world championship brings the city and the region to another level in
terms of infrastructure and heritage. But it is important that due to this
championship, the credibility of the working professions is increased. Everyone
wants to be bankers or managers. Another thing is to go your own way, gain
experience, become the best in your profession, enjoy work and, of course, have
a decent income. We wish you success and support you”, the Mayor assured the
young specialists.
Speaking
about the level of training of students of the technical school, Rima
Mukhameshina, the general director of the Kazan Department of Food and Supply,
said: “They are our best personnel reserve”. Thus, young professionals of KTEC
won 3 medals at the Russian competitions in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk,: two gold medals
in the competence of “Restaurant service” and a silver one in the “Culinary
Art”.
The Trade
and Economic College prepares experts in the field of catering and services.
1200 students study here. Razia Savchenko, the director, explained that
initially, the college prepared experts in the confectionery and chef
competences to participate in WorldSkills. But later, the range of skills
formed in the educational institution expanded. In addition, since 2016,
national teams of the Russian Federation on the competencies of “Restaurant
service”, “Hairdressing” and “Administration of hotels” are trained on the
basis of the college. The national team at the national stage of the
championship will include 14 college students, and 4 people will be part of the
Russian national team for the world championship from the college.
The
championship WorldSkills 2019 will be held in Kazan from 22 to 27 of August.
Young professionals from 60 countries of the world will take part in 56
competencies. The Kazan Executive Committee has five competencies in the
championship: floristry, confectionery and chef business, restaurant service,
and hairdressing. From 20 to 24 of May, the capital of the RT will host the
final of the VII National WorldSkills Championship.
The Mayor
was also accompanied by Sergey Mironov, the head of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky
districts’ administration, and Artur Valiakhmetov the chairman of the Committee
of Economic Development.
