(KZN.RU, November 17). The Visa Application Center of Finland was inaugurated in Kazan. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland to Russia Matti Anttonen and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
Finland’s Visa Application Center has been operating on the basis of the Joint Visa Service Center since June. During this time, Tatarstan citizen have been issued 500 visas to Finland. Today's ceremony was timed to the visit to Kazan by Finland’s ambassador to Russia Matti Anttonen.
Note that the Joint Visa Service Center performs only administrative functions - checking and initial processing of documents. The decision to grant or refuse a visa is taken by the embassy or consulate of the country the applicant intends to visit. At present, the Joint Visa Application Center in Kazan serves the diplomatic missions of Spain, Denmark, Malta, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Finland, Greece, Austria and Finland.
