October 13). On October 14, the TV channel “Russia 24” will show the film “The
Bold Plan. Universiade”. The viewers will be reminded how preparations were
made for the World Summer Student Games, which Kazan hosted in 2013, and how
this global event influenced the development of sports in Tatarstan and its capital
and launched a series of major international sports events in Russia.
The fact
that the country needs major sporting events for the development of mass and
professional sports has once been said by Vladimir Putin, the President of
Russia. The Universiade, which took place in Kazan, was one of the first major
international events in the new history of Russia. After 5 years, the
organizers of the World Student Games and their participants will remember how
it all began. Mintimer Shaimiev, the State Councilor of the RT, the first
President of the RT, Oleg Matytsin, the President of the FISU, Rustam
Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Igor

synchronized swimming, Universiade volunteers, and city residents will speak.

in the struggle for the right to host the 2011 games, about the second bidding
campaign and winning it, about the unforgettable atmosphere of the holiday that
the Games presented.
