(KZN.RU, August 2, Alsu Safina). The third shift in the sports camp “Molodaya Gvardiya” is coming to an end. More than 200 children and teenagers have rested in the camp for 18 days, continuing to practice their favorite sports. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, acquainted himself with the conditions for rest and training of pupils of sports schools of the city and noted the need to develop the infrastructure of the “Molodaya Gvardiya”.
The sports and recreation camp “Molodaya Gvardiya” of the DYUSSh in the Vakhitovsky district is located in the Kirovsky district on the Gorky highway. It was founded in the 30s of the last century. Now the territory of the camp is 9.38 hectares. This summer, the camp organized 4 profile shifts for 18 days. 242 children rested in the camp in the first three shifts. The fourth shift starts from August 5 and ends on August 22. The camp is preparing to take another 220 children, pupils of municipal children's sports schools.
Students from the Vakhitovsky Youth Sports School, the Sports School for Athletics, “Specter”, “Ak Bure”, “Uniks Junior” and “Privolzhanin” arrived in the “Molodaya Gvardiya” in the current third shift.
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, inspected the sports grounds and talked with young athletes and their coaches. A basketball and volleyball court with a rubber coating located not far from the entrance to the camp. Svetlana Vostrikova, the chairperson of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports, reminded that this site was built on a prize certificate of 2 million rubles. They received it following the results of the Spartakiad of municipal employees of the RT. Rishat Ibatullin, the headmaster of DYUSSh in the Vakhitovsky district, told the head of the city that young sportsmen like the modern ground and are happy to go there for training.
One of these basketball practices for girls was held on the ground on the day of the inspection. They told the head of the city that they were satisfied with the rest, although they missed their parents a bit. “The most important thing is fresh air and training”, said the Mayor of Kazan.
There is another new sports facility in the camp territory: a basketball court made of concrete with rubber coating. It was built on the sponsorship of the “Tatspirtprom”. In addition, there are several sports grounds on the territory of the camp.
While the guests were passing through the territory of the camp, young players returned from training. The boys and their coach Anatoly Mastrov told the Mayor about their achievements in various competitions and shared their impressions of the recent World Cup in football.
As it turned out, young football players train outside the camp territory on a natural field since there is no equipped football field on the territory of the camp. Anatoly Mastrov drew attention to the need for such a field. Ilsur Metshin noted the importance of improving the conditions for training and accommodation of young athletes.
The Mayor of Kazan remembered how he himself was engaged in football and hockey during his teenage years and also went to summer sports camps, where they lived in tents for 20 people. In the “Molodaya Gvardiya” young athletes live in 7 residential wooden buildings of the 60's built. Ilsur Metshin went into one of these buildings. “It is necessary, of course, to make conditions worthy of the capital”, said the Mayor. “It’s much better compared to what we had. But this is far from the standards in comparison with how it is possible and necessary to do all-season camps”.
In addition, the head of the city visited a brick one-story dining room with a capacity of 300 people, as well as a medical center. There are two isolators for patients with viral and intestinal infections. He thanked the medical staff for the fact that, despite the far from modern conditions, they manage to perform their work qualitatively.
“Well done, you ensure children’s rest, health, and safety in such conditions. All these issues are being resolved, the children are happy, rested”, said I. Metshin to the leadership of the camp. “At one time, this camp was for 1200 children and had an immense popularity. It still is. We will try to create more worthy conditions for the next year”.
The Mayor of Kazan instructed to work out the issues of improving the infrastructure of the camp, in particular, the equipment of a football field in the camp territory.
Sergey Mironov, the head of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts’ administration, and others visited the camp “Molodaya Gvardiya” as well.
