(KZN.RU, July 31). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, topped the national rating of Mayors in June-July 2018. The Information Communication Center “Rating” in conjunction with the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation prepared a new study, devoted to the assessment of the mayors’ activity in the capitals of the regions and large financial and industrial centers of the Russian Federation for this period.
Experts noted “the extremely successful holding of the World Cup-2018 in the capital of Tatarstan”. They gave primacy to Kazan both in organizing the championship and in a general open and friendly atmosphere. Another landmark event was the awarding Kazan with the prestigious Lee Kuan Yu Prize at the World Summit of Cities in Singapore.
The start of the project on separate waste collection in one of the districts of Kazan received a positive feedback. Experts mentioned the opening of a part of the reconstructed embankment on the Nizhny Kaban Lake.
The second place in the rating was taken by Sergey Sobyanin, the Mayor of Moscow; the third went to Irek Yalalov, the head of Ufa. Ruslan Kukharuk, the head of Tyumen, and Maksim Ryashin, the head of Khanty-Mansiysk, were also included in the first five.
